APC SENATE CAUCUS DENIED OMO-AGEGE LEADERSHIP POSITION OVER COURT RULING
The All Progressives Congress, APC Senate elect Caucus has denied Ovie Omo-Agege his aspiration for Senate President, Deputy Senate president and other key Leadership position in the soon to be inaugurated Nigerian 9th Senate.
According to reliable sources in the APC Senate elect caucus, "some of us no longer see Omo-Agege as a Senator elect within the APC Senate elect caucus".
The source said it is due to the court sacked faction that nominated him as the APC Senatorial candidate in the 2019 election.
Ovie Omo-Agege whom earlier said the Federal High Court Judgement that annulled his Candidacy was inconsequential and mere academic exercise, also approached the Court of Appeal Benin to seek leave to enable him appeal the Judgement which the Appellate Court dismissed as been unmeritorious and even awarded the sum of three hundred thousand naira each against him and his co-Appellant, Rev Francis Waive whom emerged as the Candidate of the Federal House of Representatives, Ughelli/Udu federal Constituency.
Early February, there were strong indications within the camp of the embattled Delta Central Senator that he (Omo-Agege) is interested in the number one seat of the 9th Senate and later Deputy Senate president when the NWC of the APC zoned the deputy Senate president position to South South geopolitical zone where the former Secretary to Delta State Government hails from.
With these developments, the embattled Senator Ovie Omo-Agege "may be excommunicated from further APC Senator elect caucus meetings" according to one of the Senator elect from Northwest as they are likely to deal with those favoured with the law. All efforts made so far by Omo-Agege to draw the attention of the national Chairman in his favour has proven abortive as report says the National Chairman is interested in influencing the Deputy Senate president seat to a Senator elect from Edo State.
Our source also noted that the National Working Committee of the party has distanced themselves from the court cases as they wouldn't want to involve in further crash of the party.
