Two MrsTrueaides to Delta Godumpr dumps PDP for APC

Two Special Assistants to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and over 50,000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state have defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The two governor’s aides are the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth and Community Development, Mr. Lucky Arumare; and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Women Mobilisation, Mrs. Uyoyou Edhekpo.

They were formally received into the APC on Sunday by the state chairman, Jones Erie, during the official declaration to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives in 2019 by the former chairman of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, Mr. Thomas Joel-Onowakpo.

Erue said 2019 signified the end of the road for the PDP-led government in the state, noting that Deltans were earnestly waiting for the next general elections to end the Ibori “political dynasty.”

He further described Joel-Onowakpo who also recently joined APC from the PDP as “the best man to liberate the people of Isoko from the grip of House of Representatives Minority leader, Leo Ogor, who has occupied the seat for about 16 years.”

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Arumare vowed to team up with other APC leaders to “rescue the state from the grips of the PDP.

He also accused Governor Okowa administration of “lacking the foresight to develop the state.”
