DTHA AND DELTA WORKERS: OKOWA IS INCOMPETENT - IGBUYA.

Erstwhile Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Monday Ovwigho Igbuya, has condemned as a show of shame and embarrassment, the nonchalant attitude of Governor Okowa to the plight of workers in the State  saying the ugly development and deliberate refusal to ameliorate the plight of workers and pensioners in the state brings to question Okowa's commitment to democracy, unity and the stability of the state.

Igbuya said the disgraceful act is a direct consequence of Governor Okowa's lack of leadership credentials to steer the state properly and encourage the people to be productive.

Igbuya, in a statement through his Media Aide, Henry Ebireri, said “the inability of Governor Okowa to ameliorate the plight of workers in the state is a big setback for him and the PDP and I cannot guarantee his return to Government House if this ugly situation persists."

Igbuya said what Deltans are witnessing in the state right now clearly underscores the fact that Okowa lacks the requisite ideas to move Delta state forward and instead of focusing on how to save himself from woeful failure in 2019, he's busy setting up contraptions to enable him pocket the Legislature, an independent arm of government as a way to further cover his lack of ideas for governance.

On the issue of his impeachment, Igbuya, who was absent from a mega rally of the party in Sapele Stadium on Friday June 23 2017, also alerted that report available to him shows that “the lawmakers who signed his impeachment ostensibly acted on instructions from the Governor, a clear  indication that Governor Okowa was largely an interested party whose involvement was beyond mere body language”.

Igbuya said the dishonorable conduct from the unruly lawmakers in acting out the script did not come to him as a surprise given that they are bred and nurtured under a political platform that lacks discipline and thrives on cheating and misguided loyalty as an unwritten manifesto.

“I want to tell you categorically that the onus lies on Governor Okowa to ensure that all democratic institutions in Delta state are harnessed for effectiveness, a responsibility he has obviously abdicated by allowing his personal interest to instigate division in the House of Assembly, a tendency that poses great threat to the survival of our democracy and the stability of the State", he added.
