Reports that convicted Ex-Governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, immediate past Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan and erstwhile Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya have concluded plans to dump Okowa and the PDP may be true afterall as they shunned the Delta Central PDP rally in Sapele on Friday, 23 June 2017.

According to an inside source who pleaded anonymity, Ibori as well as Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya and Hon. Eriatake Ibori were not at the rally in Sapele.

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and some other leaders of the PDP were present at the rally as they seek to strengthen themselves for the coming council polls of which the opposition APC is likely to win majority of the Chairmanship and Councillorship seats.

Although the actual reason for Ibori, Uduaghan and Igbuya's absence could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report, there are side-talks that they may have refused to attend based on their loyalty to the Sheriff/Cairo faction of the PDP and based on the politically motivated impeachment of the erstwhile Speaker, Rt. Hon. Monday Igbuya which Chief Ibori perceived to be a direct blow from Okowa to him.

With the latest development in the PDP, it cannot be denied that Governor Okowa is just enjoying his last moments in Delta State Government House as the rejection from Ibori, Uduaghan and Igbuya is coming after council workers and teachers in Delta State outrightly rejected Okowa and vowed to work against him in 2019.
