Monaco midfielder ready to join Chelsea as first summer signing — reports

Image
Technically, if Tiemoue Bakayoko joins Chelsea, he would become our second summer signing, but he would be the first for the first-team in what’s already looking like a busy and expensive transfer window around England and Europe. Chelsea’s first signing in this transfer window was young Rangers academy prospect Billy Gilmour, but it will be a while before he even has a chance to be a factor in the first-team. Bakayoko, on the other hand, would be expected to challenge if not already slot in as the starter next to N’Golo Kante. The 22-year-old Monaco midfielder has been linked with Chelsea since January and now according to multiple reports, his transfer might actually be getting close to happeningI’m not sure if I follow the logic of waiting for Conte’s extension, but whatever. That won’t be long now, so Bakayoko’s arrival shouldn’t be too far off either. There’s a similar report in the Independent from Miguel Delaney, with the added twist of a Nemanja Matic knock-on effect

Griezmann gets phone call from ‘José’ in new smartphone advert

Image
In a brand new advert for the Huawei P10 smartphone the France superstar can be seen receiving a phone call from an individual named ‘José’ – coincidence or not? Unfortunately for Red Devils fans, Griezmann actually rejects the incoming call but, as was the case with Paul Pogba last summer, the transfer saga is likely to take many twists and turns over the next few months. When asked to rate his chances of a move to Old Trafford, Griezmann told Quotidien last week: ‘It’s possible. I would give it a six-out-of-10 chance.’

CHELSEA ace Nemanja Matic wants a reunion with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United this summer, according to reports.

The Manchester Evening News say Mourinho has earmarked the 28-year-old as the man to free up Paul Pogba next season. United have prioritised a central midfield signing after selling Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger. Matic was a key player for Chelsea this season as they went on to win the Premier League title.

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign from office forthwith to discharge the moral burden, which his perceived incapacitation has placed on him. He said President Buhari has refused to be morally upright and pave way for capable hands to run the affairs of our country, which is daily deteriorating and directionless. Fayose, who spoke at a press conference in Lagos yesterday, said instead of waiting for the ministers and rigours of Section 140 of the Constitution, the President should save Nigerians the anguish, suspense and hardship by resigning on the basis of morality.

NSChE tasks leaders on national development

Image
The National President, Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers (NSChE), Prof. Samuel Adefila has advocated research, funding and an enabling environment to achieve national development. He said this yesterday at a public lecture titled: “Entrepreneurship and Diversification of the Nigerian Economy: Situating Chemical Engineering,” organised by the Lagos/Ogun chapters of the NSChE, in honour of the 86th birthday of the first Chemical Engineer, Anthony Olufemi Shobo at the University of Lagos. Adefila who criticised the present government for failing to deliver change to Nigerians said it was only the government that could dictate the tune as far its progress and development were concerned. He argued that only government has the capacity to achieve substantial milestones in funding, research and creating an enabling environment. Civility means somebody is leading you and you follow him since you have handed over many things to him in trust. If he, at the end of the day disap

DELTA STATE MUST BE FREE

Image
A message of hope on Democracy day The people of Delta State breathed a heavy sigh of relief with the birth of the current Fourth Republic and a return to democratic rule. Deltans went agog in jubilation, and danced in the streets all day and night of 29th May, 1999. Everybody was happy, and woke up with high hopes, energy and boundless expectations of a great future. That was 18 years ago, as the state witnessed the swearing-in of a new civilian Governor under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); and over the last 18 years, the same PDP-led governments have been directing the affairs of Delta State. Therefore, May 29, will always be a day of joy and reflection. It is a unique day for celebrating the joy of the freedoms associated with democracy and civil rule, but a cursory look around reveals that Delta State has, over the 18 years, not adequately benefitted from the physical development, economic or social growth that ought to accompany it. It seems more like *“1

HOW TO ADDRESS DIFFERENT CLASSES OF WOMEN

women are unbelievable people that can be predicted, this has been there natural born ability to be tricky, this article will help you to know the various classes of women and how you can apprehend them, following the ideas in this article will help you to place them where they belong. Take for example you saw a lady walking ,and you are interested in getting  her attention, the first thing you would want to do is to introduce yourself, Hi am John, and you start asking her questions as if you were some CID or maybe FBI agent.this will scare her off, and you might not even get a chance  to start a proper conversation THINGS  YOU SHOULD BE SAYING AT THE FIRST TIME YOU SET YOUR EYES ON HER 1)This is the first thing to do you pick a point to deliberate on her appearance,  it might be her bag, shoe, dress, even hair, let her know that this is the first time you are seeing someone with what you are deliberating on, she will be move to drop the point that you are a stranger and jus

Has governor okowa failed to bring prosperity that he preaches

Image
The manner in which Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, has conducted the affairs of the state, in terms of governance and delivering the dividends of democracy, gives enough cause to worry about both his preparedness and capacity to deliver on his central electoral promise of inclusiveness to, assumedly, better governance. Rather, contrary to general expectations, Delta state has been hijacked by a cabal of political contractors and sundry jobbers, who have captured and taken the state hostage, even as the governor appears clueless and confused on the way forward in addressing the life and death challenges facing the people of Delta state. It is axiomatic that Okowa has set himself to fail. This is an embarrassing letdown by a man to whom much has been given, and from whom much is expected. Since the creation of Delta state in 1991, the people have suffered under successive corruption-ridden, intrigue-filled, undisciplined and rapacious governments. The people had waited to s

The Arsenal board is set to rubber-stamp Arsène Wenger’s new two-year contract when they meet on Tuesday morning, as part of a detailed discussion about the club’s direction. Wenger’s future seems as though it ought to be at the top of the agenda, since the subject has dominated the season, but vying for prominence will be an examination of budgets, which will take in how much the manager has to spend on transfers over the summer.

DELTA’S FOURTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT

Image
Fussionbase.blogspot.com By Revd Francis E. Waive Dejure, the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria provides for three senatorial districts per State.  Defacto however Delta, one of the thirty six States of the country operate a fourth senatorial district.  Delta’s fourth senatorial district is within the State but not geographically defined. Indeed members of this District claim to represent other Districts of their tribes but alas they are pretenders. Only the gullible believe their claims of being detribalized as they emphasize tribalism using the PDP’s zonal rotation system to further divide us to their advantage. Delta’s fourth senatorial district is made up of people from all tribes in the State and the legal three senatorial districts. But they have formed a tribe of their own and Deltans must wake up to this reality. It is a case of they against us. No more no less. All the elections held in the State since the return to democratic rule has been between this thie

Chelsea Coach Makes Excuse : Moses Is An Honest Player, He Fell Because He Was Tired

Image
Chelsea coach Antonio Conte has reiterated that Victor Moses did not try to con the referee into an awarding a penalty during Chelsea's 2-1 loss to Arsenal in the Emirates FA Cup final on Saturday. The Nigeria international was dismissed in the middle of the second half for simulation in the penalty area of the Gunners, falling to the ground when he was not touched by Oxlade-Chamberlain. ''There is a lot of tension in these moments and sometimes you could be tired. I don’t think if my player dived he did it with a real intention of doing it,'' Conte told chelseafc.com. ''We have arrived at the end of the season and many players are tired, and then there is a lot of pressure. ''It’s not a good situation to dive, for sure, but Moses is an honest player and if he did this it’s only because he was tired. He didn’t want to cheat the referee.'' In the just concluded season, Moses picked up four yellow cards in 34 Premier League ap
